HAPPY 2019!
I hope all schools enjoyed holiday time away from the swimming pool during the "No Practice" Winter Moratorium (December 23-27) and have had quality practice time since preparing for upcoming meets. I wish all schools the best in 2019 as you develop, compete, grow/improve, and target league and state championship meets in February. Good luck with individual and team goals. Happy New Year!

ONE METER DIVING TABLE & EXAMPLE SCORE SHEET
Errors have been discovered on page 22 of the KSHSAA Swimming & Diving Manual for 2018-19. Please refer to the corrected information located on the KSHSAA Swim & Dive Website under the tab "Diving Score Sheet". Here is a direct link: Diving Score Sheet or see page 83 of the 2018-19 NFHS Swimming and Diving Rules Book. In short, the example Diving Score Sheet on page 22 of the KSHSAA Swimming & Diving Manual has addition errors in the score calculations. The One Meter Diving Table on page 22 of the KSHSAA Manual includes two dives (#212-Flying Back 1 SS and #312-Flying Reverse SS) that are no longer legal and leaves out dive #5142-Forward 2 SS, 1 Twist (Tuck = 2.6, Pike = 2.7). Also, the correct degree of difficulty for dive #5126-Forward 1 SS, 3 Twists = 2.8, #5136-Forward 1 1/2 SS, 3 Twists = 3.1, and #5227-Back 1 SS, 3 1/2 Twists = 3.2.

2018-19 STATE QUALIFYING & CONSIDERATION TIME STANDARDS
State Qualifying and Consideration Time Standards for both boys and girls are posted on the KSHSAA website (www.kshsaa.org - Under the "Athletics" Tab click on "Swim & Dive") and listed in the 2018-19 Swimming & Diving Manual. Time Standards must have been met during this season (2018-19) in interscholastic competition (high school meets). Times achieved at ODP Meets or other USA Club Meets may not be used for qualification or consideration purposes for the KSHSAA State Swimming & Diving Championship Meets.

RULE REMINDERS
KSHSAA Rule #40 (Section 2, Article 4) - "No student representing a member school shall participate in more than 10 meets during a season, exclusive of the state meet." Approved ODP Meets during the season do count towards the limit of 10 meets.
KSHSAA Rule #30 (Section 2, Article 2) - "A student who is enrolled at the start of a season of sport, must be a member of the squad for the majority of the scheduled varsity contests, in order to be eligible for postseason competition." Majority means over half. Thus, for schools with a 10 meet schedule, a team member must participate in at least 6 of the 10 meets to be eligible to compete in the state meet.
